| So, who was I spending all this time in Cuenca with? Well, for the most part, a lot of varied people, as well as a significant amount of good quality alone time. However, there were some regular recurring charaters.
See, I heard of Cedei from two of my Visions co-workers during te summer, Sarah and Jeremy, who both worked there. However, I did not atually spend too much time with either of them. Sarah teaches English in the elementary school that Cedei runs for local kids, and one of my first nights in Cuenca she took me out and introduced me to her friends. These are the guys I hit it off with, and a bunch of them all live together in one apartment. In this apartment is Yvette from the States, Nava from England, Felipe from Brazil, Felipe's English girlfriend whose name I embarrasingly cannot remember, Conor from Ireland, and another girl from the US whose name I also can't remember but should, who was in charge of the whole english branch or something like that at Cedei. I hung out with this crew a whole lot, became very good friends with Yvette, and spent a good amount of time at that apartment. Its horrible I don't remember the names, but I will check my journal and come back to this to correct that.
There was also a group of American college students at Cedei doing a whole year abroad studying there, and I became friendly with them and spent some time with them as well, such as that first soccer game I went to. Beyond that there were also other students like me at Cedei, such as Melissa, that I would see at school or during our activities or even sometimes on the weekends or at night who were all very cool people. All told it allowed me to have some great times with great people when I wanted, in addition to the solo times I took as well. |
