| Mar 17, 2006 - Mom and Dad arrive
| Friday the 17th, St. Patty`s Day, I shared a cab with Tanner and Dan and dropped them at the bus terminal, saying goodbye to the last of the group for possibly the last time. They were headed to Uberlandia to visit the families where Tanner had done a homestay while studying abroad a few years ago, I was off to see my parents, and of course none of us had any set plans yet for after that. The second major phase of my trip, being with tons of people all the time, in between Harris's visit and my parent`s visit, had just officially ended.
I got to the Ilheus airport, and learned that my plane was delayed indefinitely due to bad weather. Crap. I was flying into the domestic Sao Paolo airport, had to then bus it over to the international airport to meet my parents, and at 2:30 we were flying together to the Iguazu falls. My original flight was at 8am, and was supposed to take 2 hours, which gives me more than enough time for the 30-45min bus over. Well, after a lot of time passed, and with no way to contact my parents, I started getting a bit nervous. Luckily I finally took off a bit after 10am, got to the international airport by about 1pm, and met my parents at the check-in. From there we had lunch, I started filling them in on all the stories from the past few months, and we got on our plane to go. |
